Stated Interest Rate

Definition:

The Stated Interest Rate is the interest rate set forth on an obligation and is the amount of interest that the issuer paid.  For example, if the issuer pays $40 on an obligation with a face value of $1000, then the stated interest rate is 4 percent. Citation: IRC § 1274(d). Determination of issue price in the case of certain debt instruments issued for property.
